We are looking for a System Architect in Digital ASIC for Ethernet Switches for our Ethernet IP Program. Based in our Kista office, you’ll play a key role in defining the architecture and systemisation of ASICs that will enable tomorrow's telecom networks. If you’re passionate about advanced silicon development and want to be part of the next giant leap in telecom, this is your role! This position reports to the head of ASIC IP Top System within System & Architecture.

 

What You will do 

•    Collaborate with system architects and cross-functional teams to drive the systemisation of Ethernet IP for digital ASICs.

 

•    Work with radio and RAN compute product development teams to define functional requirements for Ethernet front haul solutions.

 

•    Lead the ASIC subsystem architecture design and micro-architecture design of ASIC IP blocks, ensuring seamless functionality.

 

•    Support the design team through all stages of development, verification, and validation, 

 

•    Document and communicate system designs and architectural decisions throughout all phases—from early-stage development to final validation.

 

•    Continuously improve ways of working, always seeking new efficiencies in our process

 

Skills you bring; 

•    Master’s or PhD in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) 

•    Deep experience in Router/Switch and Networking technologies.

 

•    Proven track record in advanced SoC development and expertise in the ASIC design environment and methodology.

 

•    Strong understanding of network standards (IEEE 802.1, IEEE 802.3 ITU-T) and high-speed interfaces (e.g., DDR, Ethernet).

 

•    Knowledge of network security protocols like MACsec and IPsec.

•    Proficiency in VHDL and System Verilog and experience leading cross-team projects.

 

•    Quality-driven mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-performance, reliable systems.

 

What makes you stand out; 

•    Knowledge of 3GPP mobile communication standards.

•    Familiarity with industry-standard interfaces like I3C, SPI, SGMII, and others.

•    Experience in signal processing algorithms and modelling in Matlab or C++.
