Baseband Technology under Ericsson AI and other emergency technology department leads technology foresight and development in the core system area of real-time processing (baseband), both for AI and non-AI methods and workloads. This includes AI models in the Physical Layer of RAN, accelerated compute technology, the SW toolchain for AI on Ericsson Silicon (EMCA) and other areas vital to the AI mission, such as overseeing field data collection and AI model validation over-the-air, simulators, cloud infrastructure and more. The responsibility area also includes leading technology incubation for future SW-defined baseband planforms, for example using GPU’s and various accelerator devices.

We know Ericsson Physical Layer (L1) has been in leading position drive high performance of our 5G network; In the era of AI technology trend, we are looking for someone really have big passion to join us to leading innovation in wireless communication by integrating artificial intelligence or other cutting-edge technology into baseband physical layer processing.

We are looking for a Master Physical Layer software developer whoever have big passion/belief to master AI and other emerging technology as well to join our global team. No matter where you join, all are very welcomed, since we are a global baseband team, we have baseband experts cross different Ericsson sites: Stockholm, Lund, Linkoping and Ottawa.

What you will do

In this role you will actively contribute or lead the technology scotting on new algorithm, in particular focus on Neural Network and other deep learning algorithm to enhance implementation of NR/6G Physical Layer functions running on the Ericsson purpose build RAN compute as well as COTS (Commercial off the shelf) General compute platform, i.e x86/ARM with various accelerator.

What you will bring

• 8+ years of experience in baseband digital processing, primary physical layer.
• Strong competence in C/C++, Python is a must.
• Quick learner with open mind is a must.
• MSc degree in Electrical engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Consistent track record to deliver complex software solutions, on-time and with quality.
• Work/lead an international, agile and multi-site teams both collaboratively and autonomously.
• An enthusiastic demeanor, eager to continue growing and learning, and helping your team to learn.
• Innovating, adapting, and responding to change.
• Care about diversity and inclusion, encourage speak-up environments, come with a strong can-do attitude.
• Any relevant experience on Embedded AI for RAN.
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX) and cloud platforms, especially AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, etc.).
• Experience with deep learning AI models (Large language Model/LLM, Convolutional Neural Networks/CNNs, Transformers, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, time management, and multitasking skills.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience developing through the Development Pipeline and software content management principles and tools – CI/CD (DevOps), git, Gerrit, GitHub, Jenkins, Spinnaker.
• Experience work with different AI compiler framework (LLVM,MLIR etc).
• Experience with Nvidia tool chain, CUDA, Kernel design.
