About this opportunity:

You will be part of Standards & Technology’s Digital Radio team researching, developing, and validating the latest state-of-the-art radio technologies ranging from lower physical layers through signal to the antenna. Concept development, design and validation is done in everything from our ground-breaking simulators and crude lab prototypes to end-to-end systems implemented in product-like prototypes. You will be working in one of the most experienced teams within this domain in the world. 

We are now looking for a Digital Radio System Designer to engage in the research of novel digital radio concepts and in the development and integration of Digital Radio Hardware and Firmware for our 6G (and beyond) prototypes. 

What you will do:

• Innovate Digital Radio Architectures & concepts that add value to tomorrow’s mobile infrastructure Radios. 
• Participate in the systemization of future mobile infrastructure Radio Hardware 
• Perform Digital Radio design such as FPGA implementation, embedded firmware, signal processing, algorithm development (including radio-enhancing algorithms with machine learning), e.t.c. 
• Participate in Radio Integration, ensuring your systemization & design performs on target hardware 
• Drive efficient communication and coordination with stakeholders and adjacent technical disciplines. 
• Drive Digital Radio technical leadership: Understand industry trends and customer benefits. 

The skills you bring:

• MSc or PhD degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications or similar 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven drive for results. 
• 5+ years of experience researching and developing digital radio hardware and signal processing 
• Expertise in digital radio hardware implementation technologies (e.g. ASIC, FPGA, x86, processors, … ) 
• Knowledge in Radio System design 
• Hands-on lab & integration experience 
• Understanding of board/PCB & interconnect technologies 
• Fluent in English
