The Standards & Technology (S&T) unit, part of Technology & Strategy within Business Area Networks, is dedicated to driving technology foresight from antennas to cloud. With nearly 300 highly skilled researchers and leaders across Stockholm, Lund, and Paris, S&T is responsible for Ericsson’s hardware and software research strategies, standardization efforts, target architecture, and the analysis of new Radio Access Network (RAN) concepts. We conduct technology proof-of-concepts and build testbed systems for future RAN generations. 

Join our innovative Radio Access Technology team in Lund! Focused on the evolution of 5G and the development of 6G, this role involves conceptual design and network simulation. You'll engage in scenario studies, evaluating future cellular networks in terms of traffic, management, and deployment. Your insights will guide strategic product decisions and provide valuable advice to our customers.

What you will do:

•    Develop and assess new RAN solutions for various use cases and scenarios via advanced simulation studies, including the creation of evaluation tools and models.

•    Protect innovative ideas through patents and formulate product recommendations.

•    Communicate findings to drive technology leadership and profitable business strategies within Ericsson.

•    Collaborate with diverse Ericsson teams and external partners.

The skills you bring:

•    M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, preferably with industry experience in wireless communication.

•    Strong analytical skills with a passion for exploring new technologies.

•    Understanding of industry dynamics, strategic development, and activity prioritization.

•    Expertise in wireless network evaluations (LTE and NR), with proven skills in network modeling, simulations, and software engineering.

•    Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions clearly.

•    A collaborative mindset with the capability to independently lead studies.

•    Interest in building robust networks of contacts, both internally and externally.
